Meet the Author
Chad Story was born and raised in West Virginia. He holds a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia State University and a master’s in education from American Public University. Chad began his career working with children and adults with developmental delays before teaching special education.
He later served two members of Congress from West Virginia in various roles, including field representative, district director, and deputy chief of staff. Today, Chad continues his public service through the Congressional Staff Academy in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he works as a leadership and learning instructor, training and coaching congressional staff on the skills needed to succeed in public service.
A passionate traveler, Chad has visited 30 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, and countries across Asia, South America, and the Caribbean—including stops at two of the Seven Wonders of the World. In his free time, he enjoys exploring dog parks with his pup, Biscuit, and listening to ‘90s country music.
Chad is a first-time author with the release of Christmas in the Mountain State, a children’s book that celebrates the charm and beauty of West Virginia during the holiday season.

Chief Treat Strategist: Biscuit
Biscuit is the undisputed brains behind the operation. At the mature age of 1 year old, he makes sure that fun is had by all, no exceptions. When he’s not overseeing day-to-day morale, you can find him on long walks, chasing birds and squirrels, or wrestling with the other neighborhood dogs. Biscuit's business strategy is simple: fun for all, and plenty of treats. He takes pride in being approachable, adored, and always ready for a good belly rub. Be prepared to pet him frequently, and don’t forget the treats.
